THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPH
Perhaps the most impressive natural feature on Mull (though you could make a good case for the Carsaig Arches, too). This is Eas For, a wonderfully scenic waterfall on the north west coast of the island, between Lagganulva and Ballygown, on the B8073. There is a small parking area opposite the falls, but the best way to see them is to walk back along the road to a gap in the fence and descend to the shore, then walk back along the shore to the bottom of the falls for the view you see here. One thing I recall about this scene was that when I arrived there was a chap there taking a photo with a homemade pinhole camera. I watched while he set up this ungainly looking box on a tripod and took a long exposure. I'd love to have seen the result!
