THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPH
High Force waterfall is lcated on the River Tees, near Forest-in-Teesdale village. Access is via a winding trail down the slope of the hill from the road, and is by ticket only. The waterfall is well worth the trek, however. On this occasion I was drawn to the shafts of sunlight filtering down through the tree branches and striking the plumes of mist from the falls and the small tree growing amid the boulders at the base of the falls.
