THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPH
The village of Seatoller is one of the rainiest places in Britain. The village lies at the foot of the Honister Pass leading from Borrowdale to Buttermere and Crummock Water. Just as the road begins to climb up the Pass, there are a series of small waterfalls, so typical of this area of the Lake District. I rather had to force my way through a tangle of undergrowth to get to the falls, but it was well worth the exertion. What gets me is that so few people will ever see this scene for themselves, or perhaps just catch a glimpse out their car window as the drive up the Honister road.
