Turf Fen Windmill, Norfolk Broads

THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPH

Turf Fen windmill, River Ant, Norfolk Broads. I intended to capture a bit of late evening Norfolk Broads sunset magic, but the weather had other ideas. My son and I went for a long walk to the isolated windmill, got lost, missed whatever sunset there was, and only arrived at Turf Fen as the last light of evening lit the sky behind the windmill. Strangely I like the result more than the sunset photo I had been visualising; the muted tones and the peaceful water somehow seems to capture the mood of the Norfolk Broads more than a picture postcard view might have done.
