THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPH
Just off the A894 to Kylesku, the road winds past Loch na Gainmhich. A trail leads past the loch in the direction of Eas a Chual Aluinn, the waterfall with the highest drop in Britain. Many people make the 5 mile trek to the falls, but how many, I wonder, realise what a wonderful waterfall lies almost hidden by the curves in the road, a short stroll from the northern tip of the loch. Here, a marvellously scenic waterfall tumbles almost straight down from the loch to the narrow floor of a steep-sided gorge. I love this scene, and the fact that so few people realise this wonderful falls exists somehow makes it even more attractive.
