THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPH
This was a photo that almost didn't happen. I was exploring the historic ruins on St David's head, trying to make sense out of the jumble of stone walls and various humps and bumps on the headland, when I realised that the evening sun was getting very low in the sky. With the speed of a [very slow] Olympic sprinter I slung my camera bag onto my back, grabbed my tripod, and ran along the path that leads from the headland, over the cliffs to Whitesands Bay. I must have looked a comical sight as I arrived, huffing and puffing like a locomotive, at the beach, and set up my tripod in time to get this lovely photo of the setting sun over rocks by the shore. That's the headland I ran from in the background, so I think I did pretty well!
